I got to spend a sunny evening with Autumn and her mom last week and it was SO FUN! I love kids-only shoots. It's a blast to watch the child enjoy being the center of attention... it's especially fun when we do it in their village so they get to proudly show me their favorite spots.
My mission with Autumn was to capture who she is as a three-year-old. I knew from talking to her mom ahead of time that she is a happy kid who loves to sing. So I followed her around for two hours and she entertained me by singing some of her favorite songs (she has the lyrics DOWN!), dancing with twirling ribbons, swinging, sliding, collecting sticks, twirling, climbing trees, playing with bubbles, drawing, jumping, twirling, picking flowers, and did I mention twirling?
She was super proud of her outfit, which her mom let her pick out all by herself! She called it her Elsa-dress :o)
One of my favorites about kids-only shoots is the fact that I have extra time to really focus on the details. And those are especially important to capture of a little one who is sure to grow up way too fast. So I zeroed in on those pudgy little fingers, squishy cheeks, and baby curls! And we just had fun playing together!
Thanks Autumn and Heather for the great night exploring your village! You've got a really special little one Heather, and you're doing a great job with her!
